This
fine Pair Case Watch carries London Hallmarks for 1836. Both parts of the case
carry the same mark, supporting that they started life together. The cases are
superbly made, the outer featuring a square hinge which is still in great condition.
The inner case is marked JB (Josiah Barnett of London?). Both parts are in very
nice condition with all parts closing crisply and true. The movement is Verge
with fusee and functions well although not accurate runs right down as demonstrated
in the bottom left photograph. Typically it is unsigned but has a very decorative
balance cock. The dial is clear but the porcelain has some fine hairlines. The
crystal is bulls eye and also in good condition. Altogether a very fine example
made the year before Victoria came to the Throne. Priced at £425.
