SORRY SOLD This is a lovely example
of popular English Watchmaking and Retailing at its best.The case is solid
silver with a Chester hallmark of 1900. All parts of the watch fit well and
snap shut. By pressing the top button the back spriings open for winding,
which, like the hands set, is by a key, which will be supplied. The case is
signed JGG S, John George Graves of Sheffield, is in nice condition. The dial,
also signed J.G.Graves, has a few faint hairlines and a small chip at 1 o'clock.
Very little for its age.The movement, under the dust cover, runs strongly
and still has its guilding in lovely condition. English lever layout with
a dummy fusee. A temperature compensated balance is used together with silver
regulator scale and hair spring retainer. The watch has been cleaned and serviced.
